You are the boss of you.
I am not here to try to guilt-trip, sell or inspire you into sobriety.
Only YOU know if you have a problem - and if you're ready to do something about it..
My job is to ask the big questions so YOU can dig deep.
And decide what's next.
It's impossible to solve a problem if you don't understand what it is.
For decades, I drank too much, did things I didn't want to do - and then thought I was a sh*tty person.
I did not understand I suffered from an addiction to alcohol; not a willpower or broken-compass problem.
I was not a bad person needing to be good. I was an ill person needing to get well.
The first step is to get clear on what addiction is, and if that's the monkey on your shoulder. My mission is to get you very, very clear on that. No bullshit here.
Shameless. Bold. Radical. 100 percent clear. S'all.
I am not asking you to commit forever.
I am asking you to giving this a shot TODAY.
The moment of decision begins as a whisper that becomes a soul-scream: "I'm so tired". "Enough". "I want more than this stupid cycle". "I hate what I am doing to myself". "Things need to change".
The decision is ultimately yours.
So ask yourself: Are you done?
Are you willing to give this an honest try?
Half measures avail us nothing. Sober warriors go ALL IN.
I have never seen a life transformed by doing things half-way. Have you?
I drank like a motherf*cker. So I needed to heal like a motherf*cker, too.
Recovery is the path to healing. I had to put the gloves down, set my ego to the side (those big ideas that got me nowhere), and decide to do the work. Recovery is about action, not thought.
I had to decide. Both feet in. Brain on shelf. Soul open to discomfort.
Was I ready? I didn't feel like I was...
But I was too tired of living life as it was - so I said yes.
My tongue is fabulously unfiltered,
But the f-word I love the most is:
Forgiveness of Self,
to forgive yourself
opens the door
to the process of healing.
Self-love. Start there.
We do recover. There is not one "right way" to do it.
If addiction is the problem, recovery is the solution.
Recovery is about "recovering" the SELF that was lost to addiction - but also about DISCOVERING the most badass version of you.
Sober, happy, free.
Doesn't that sound good?
Addiction is one of the most magnificent "me too" human experiences. Nobody can understand an addict better than an addict.
Recovery begins there. One sober badass sharing hope with one who is still suffering.
Connecting with a tribe of sober warriors, those who have been in the dark hole and gotten out, is so inspiring. It is so vital in the journey of growing your sea-legs once more.
CONNECTION. TRIBE. COMMUNITY.
...Is that you want to quit drinking. Or using. Or doing THAT thing that is wrecking your soul.
...Is that you are willing to do things differently.
...Is that you are willing to get uncomfortable.
...Is that you are ready to ask the big questions.
...Is that you are ready to be honest.
...Is that you are willing to discover the power in YOU.
We are for the bold. For the unfiltered. For the exhausted. For the broken.
For the curious. For the determined. For the terrified. For the certain.
For the hiding. For those willing to ask the big questions.
For those who have forgotten how to be still. How to sit with silence.
How to be ok in their own skin.
We are for those seeking answers. For those tired of the same storyline.
For those searching for the breadcrumb trail that leads them home.
