a baby step in the right direction

IS ALCOHOL "A THING"?

I spent years lying to my doctor or therapist. "I drink socially." I was lying to myself, too. I wasn't able to admit how much my drinking was affecting my health, sense of self, and relationships.

Worse? I couldn't imagine telling anyone. Did I ever think of going to AA or getting help? Please. I was a Highland Park mom with a good job and reputation.

Plus, I wasn't that bad. I would quit when I wanted to.

But the consequences were getting louder. My willpower seemed to have evaporated when it came to wine. For the first time, I didn't trust myself, and shame started to taint my life.

One night in 2009, I drove drunk with my son in the back seat. The next day, I took myself to a local AA meeting, devastated and hating myself.

my life changed.

you have clients like me

You probably have dozens of clients in the same place of pain, secrecy, and shame. Young moms, professional women, yoga and green-juice enthusiasts; amazing women who may be rocking life—except the wine is slowly killing them.

They may be:

  • Secretly aware that something's off with their drinking.
  • Wanting to quit, but scared of going to AA (#never).
  • Willing to do anything to stop, but no clue of where to begin.
  • In constant conflict with their partner/boss/friend...and unable to see the role their drinking plays in all of it.
  • Seeking therapy, exercise or <other> to "drink less" - and frustrated when it doesn't work.
  • Stuck. Hopeless. Scared.

Let's help them shift, shall we?

NO. MORE. SHAME.

How many “Day Ones” have your clients had?
Probably too many—just like me. Each day holds hope but fades with the next glass of Chardonnay or Cabernet (the drink “we deserve”).

Then comes the shame—shame for how we act, for “failing” again, for hurting others. The more we drink, the more shame. The more shame, the more we drink. It’s a cycle.

That’s where we’ll start: dropping the shame so we can finally breathe.

KATE KIECKLER. Mentorship client

"I was in denial for a long time because my wine was more friend than foe. But I also knew that brain fog, joint pain, and depression were worse when I drank. I loved how you saw the connection from the start. You showed me how to think about things in a new way and never made me feel bad (even when I drank.) I'm now four months sober and loving my new life. Super grateful to you, Pamela."

Fifteen+ years on the journey

of recovery...

When it comes to addiction issues, I have a superpower: I've experienced addiction in my own skin.

I understand the mental obsession, cravings, and "insanity" of addiction- I know how it thinks, feels, and sounds. This is why my clients trust me. I’ve been where they are, and I know the way out.

I believe in the power of the 12 steps and AA fellowships.

But many of my clients can’t access these benefits—they’ve had bad experiences or avoid meetings entirely. My role is to help them clarify their problem, work through their shame and resistance, and help them heal through multiple methodologies (including 12-step work when fitting.)

My goal? To help them get sober and guide them back home to themselves.

We address trauma, codependency, toxic beliefs, setting boundaries, and shifting from a "punishing" view of sobriety to an empowering recovery they love.

My clients undergo a radical shift within only a few weeks of us working hand-in-hand.

I partner with therapists, functional doctors, and trauma specialists like yourself to support clients in the areas I can't.

It takes a village to help someone heal powerfully and sustainably.

PETER STONE. Mentorship client

"Despite getting sober a few years ago, something was missing. I was worried I was headed towards a drink, not away from one. Pamela made me realize growth wasn't about just not drinking - but changing my thought process as a person, to reach my life goals. Through what she calls "Project Pete," I'm on a new path that keeps me sober and helps me feel like a better man. Muchas gracias, Pamela"

How does mentorship work?

I start with a complimentary 30-minute clarity call to ask key questions and see if they’re a good fit for mentorship. We build trust, and they can share their struggles - many of which are identical to what mine used to be. Ninety percent of clients sign up on the spot; the rest simply aren’t ready yet.

THE PROCESS

I customize the journey based on where each person is on the addiction scale. Common practices include:

*Trauma-informed assessment of drinking history, triggers, and patterns.

*Addiction clarity: 12-step perspective + neurobiology.

*Processing shame, stigma, prejudice, and self-forgiveness.

*IFS (Internal Family Systems) work.

*Codependency basics.

*Family support and “how to” for daily life scenarios.

*Recovery program: Why and how to start.

*Body: Embodiment, somatic work, breathwork.

*Mind: Recovery literature, boundaries, trigger identification.

*Spirit: Meditation, journaling, morning spiritual practices.

*Community: Online and in-person fellowships.

*Early sobriety support via daily coaching (voice-notes.)

*Access to my full suite of video/audio courses.

*Direct access to me via text/WhatsApp for daily questions, updates, and guidance. 100% of clients say this daily support was key to their success.

CARNEY O'BRIEN. Mentorship client

"I’m so much more peaceful and confident since you helped me quit drinking, Pamela. My morning routine has been a game-changer, too. I've written a two-way letter every morning since 4/24/21 and haven’t had a drink since then. More importantly, I’m consistently honest with myself and genuinely nurturing my spirit. There still plenty more growth to go but that’s the exciting part, no?"

IF YOUR CLIENT IS NOT SURE

If they’re not ready for you to fill out the form in your office, it’s understandable—it’s hard to address this in front of others, even a doctor or therapist.

If you think your client might be interested, invite them to explore my podcast, free resources, or website. The link below leads to the main page where they can learn more.

LAURA McKENDRICK Mentorship client

"I can't explain how much my life changed after two months of working with Pamela. Not only did I quit my daily dose of Chardonnay - I'm learning to say no to the things that hurt me. I never realized how much my drinking was affecting my family, and my most important relationships. My daughter asked me to take her shopping yesterday. It's been years since she hasn't asked me to hang out. I'm grateful on so many levels."

What's the smallest step to take...?

Truth? No one feels fully ready to start—but a small nudge in the right direction can start momentum.

Over the last seven years, I’ve seen countless lives regain their light. I’ve helped men, women, and non-binary folks reclaim their joy. Watching someone break free from alcohol or drugs and rewrite their story is magical. It’s the biggest honor of my life to help them.

I offer online courses, A Sober New You, and a journal called The Unapologetically Sober Journal.

It's all about taking the first baby step.
